How do I take care of my external piercing?
Leave bandage on until you get home. After removing the bandage, wash your piercing with warm soapy water, use an antibacterial soap, like Dial. Rinse off the soap and water, and put a triple antibiotic ointment, like neosporin, on your piercing. Make sure to move your jewelry, to make sure you get soap and antibiotic ointment into the piercing. This will be done 3-4 times a day, for 10 days. After 10 days, stop using the antibiotic ointment. Just use warm, soapy water. If jewelry gets hard to move, apply some A&D ointment. You can also reduce washing to 2-3 times a day. Do not put alcohol, peroxide, or bactine on piercings. Play with piercing to loosen the skin around the jewelry, like spinning your earrings. After 30 days, you can wash your piercing as your would normally wash your body. Also after the 30 day period, you may change out your jewelry. The piercing can take anywhere from 2-6 months to heal completly. We will change out your jewelry free of charge, whether you buy our jewelry, or someone elses. As long as the piercing was done here. Stay out of lake water for 30 days. Chlorinated water (Pool, Sauna), salt water, and tanning will NOT harm your piercing. Keep balls screwed tightly on jewelry. If piercing does not have jewelry in it, it can close in a matter of minutes. If you have any problems, do not hesitate to call us. We can help.
