A bump came up on my piercing, what do I do?

If a bump has come up around your piercing, it is not infected, it is not a keloid, do not try and pop it, and do not take your jewelry out. When you get a bump around the piercing it usually means that something got down into the hole, usually dead skin, dirt, make-up, or skin/hair product. So your body reacts to it as it would an ingrown hair. It will form a bump, maybe a little blood and puss, and try to push whatever is irritating it out. There is a very simple solution for this problem.

Mix roughly ½ teaspoon of FINE SEA SALT with 8 oz. (1 cup) of the warmest water you can stand. Not boiling hot, but shower hot. Soak a cotton-ball in the sea salt water, and place the cotton-ball onto your piercing. Leave it on the piercing for 5 minutes. Do this 2 times a day, for a full 2 weeks. The bump may go down, or away, within a few days.  Still continue the soak for the full 14 days. If you don't do it 2 times a day for 5 minutes, for a full 2 weeks, the bump can, and usually will come right back. If you have any questions, problems persist, or get worse, please stop by the shop, or give us a call. We can help.
