How do I take care of my new tattoo?

Tattoo Care

Leave the bandage on for 2 to 4 hours. When you take off the bandages, wash the tattoo with soapy water. Lather the soap in your hand and gently rub over the tattoo. Let the water run down your tattoo, not directly hitting the tattoo. Blot dry with a towel. After the first wash, use the same procedure once a day for 7 to 10 days or until the scabs are gone. Do not let your tattoo dry out. To keep the tattoo from drying out apply a small amount of unscented hand lotion (Lubriderm) or a tattoo care product (Tattoo Goo) to your tattoo. Make sure to rub the lotion in completely. Too much lotion is just like getting your tattoo wet and can cause scabs. You are trying to create flakey and peeling looking skin. If your tattoo gets wet or too much lotion is applied, it will cause thick and hard scabs. If the scab is accidentally pulled off it will take out the ink. A little water (shower) or sweating will not hurt your tattoo. Do not submerge your tattoo in water (ex. Swimming and tub baths). Make sure to immediately blot dry your tattoo if it gets wet. Do not let water stand on your tattoo. Do not scratch or itch your tattoo. After your tattoo is healed, the sun will fade the color in your tattoo. Before exposing your tattoo to the sun or ultraviolet light (ex. Tanning beds), make sure to apply 25spf or higher sun block to the area. This will keep your tattoo’s color from fading. If you fallow these instructions your tattoo should look just like it did after it was done.

If your tattoo needs any touch-ups, touch-ups are done Tuesday-Thursday. We do not guarantee tattoos on the head, neck, hands, or feet. There will be a needle fee for tattoo touch-ups in those areas.

If you have any problems, do not hesitate to call or stop by. We can help.
