How do I take care of my new tongue piercing?

As soon as possible after getting your piercing take ibuprofen for the swelling, Tylenol or Advil for the pain. this will minimize pain and swelling. Ice will also help. Do not use aspirin, as it will cause you to bleed. Your tongue will swell for 3 to 5 days. After the swelling goes down, you will have a large barbell in your mouth, be careful not to bite down on it, it can chip or break your teeth.

Starting immediately, rinse your mouth with a 1/2 Listerine 1/2 water mixture. Rinse your mouth with the water/Listerine mixture after everything you put in your mouth besides ice or water. You will rinse with the 1/2 Listerine 1/2 water mixture for 30 days.

If you smoke anything, rinse thoroughly after every time.

Make sure to keep the balls on the jewelry tight. If a ball comes off you might swallow the jewelry. Anytime that jewelry in nit in the piercing it can close regardless of how long you have had it. You can change your piercing after 30 days. Your first change out is free Tuesday-Thursday. You do still have to buy the jewelry here or bring your own as we do Not provide the jewelry for free.
